Why Join the ICI?Established in 1953, the Institute is the only North American trade association dedicated to the investment casting industry. We strive to promote the investment casting process and our members, as well as provide the industry with educational opportunities. As a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization, we are proud to have a dedicated staff with Board Member oversight that is supported by member run committees. We continue to grow. Today, we are comprised of almost 270 members (nearly half foundries and half industry suppliers) and provide members with many benefits.
Here's What Some of Our Members Say...“As a hiring manager responsible for training new Engineers, I’ve found that using the ICI Publications such as Atlas of Defects and Process Videos it gives our new Engineers a much deeper understanding on Investment Casting, especially those who join our company with no prior knowledge or experience in investment casting. It helps shorten the learning curve and allows us to realize the benefits of new Engineers in a much shorter time frame. I personally recommend these publications and hope that ICI continues to provide its members with valuable resources.”
- Issa Nassar, Engineering Manager, FS Precision Tech “I have been using the Investment Casting Institute’s Atlas of Wax, Shell, and Casting Defect guidelines and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with the amount of information provided in this guide. The Atlas covers a wide range of casting defects and provides detailed explanations of each defect along with high-quality images for easy identification. The guide also offers helpful suggestions for minimizing or completely avoiding these defects during the casting process. I found the section on wax and shell defects particularly helpful as it provided clear explanations and visual aids for identifying and preventing early possible issues. The quality of the images in this guide is exceptional, they are crystal clear and provide excellent examples of the defects. Overall, I highly recommend the ICI’s Atlas of Wax, Shell, and Casting defect guidelines to anyone involved in the investment casting industry. It is a valuable resource for both beginners and experienced professionals alike and is an essential addition to any casting’s library.” - Reyno Renolayan, Lead Process Engineer, FS Precision "ICI is one of the best trade organizations that I have dealt with." -Annie Karim, Foseco "I enjoy the ICI conferences and events as they are great learning experiences and great for opening your mind to new ideas etc. At the same time I find the networking and sharing thoughts and ideas with others in the industry is probably even more beneficial. It provides great services to its members." - Rich Motto, CADBLU "The ICI has helped me to understand a lot: identification of critical process parameters, measurement of process parameters & optimization of process parameters for batter process control to get good quality casting. The Atlas of Wax and Casting Defects has helps identify critical process parameters and understand the effect of those process parameters on the quality of castings and wax patterns. The Ceramic Testing Guidebook and Standard Test Procedure for Pattern Materials helps me test raw materials and in-process materials. Ask the Experts has helped me to understand and optimize the results." - ICI Certification Course Student "Our company used the Ask the Experts site and the reply was very timely, and the technical advice helped further define our root cause investigation and ultimately help resolve the defect, thanks again for this support, as the industry experts did a great job in providing clear, concise feedback to provide technical direction." - Shawn D.
