Institute Executive Director Michael Perry said the conference will feature worldwide representation from foundries, universities and suppliers who are expected to share best practices, research studies, new technology and global marketing information. Technical papers come from China, Japan, Germany, the Czech Republic, Portugal, United Kingdom and the United States.
Perry noted this is the only global metalcasting conference dedicated solely to investment casting. This will be the first World Conference with an equipment expo, and many pieces of equipment will be operating, he said. For this reason, we expect the conference to be the biggest ever with show-stopping demonstrations, exhibits of the latest technology on display all targeted exclusively on investment casters.
Perry said he anticipates a casting contest will provide yet another layer of technology and information to attendees. The contest is expected to promote the benefits of investment casting as a manufacturing process.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their spouses or guests. Guest options will include a reception, sightseeing tour, and banquet. The banquet, a tradition at the World Conference, is scheduled at the nearby historic Belo Mansion. Built in the neo-classical revival style, the Belo Mansion was built in the late 1800's by Colonel Alfred Horatio Belo, who founded the Dallas Morning News. The contractor was Daniel Morgan, who, in 1893, completed the Dallas County Courthouse now known as "Old Red."
