About the Investment Casting Institute
The Investment Casting Institute is a nonprofit corporation whose purpose is to promote quality standards, collect and disseminate information about the industry, and provide industry education opportunities to members.
The Institute was established in 1953, and today consists of approximately 200 companies, half of which are casting (regular) members and half of which are supplier (affiliate) members.
Each year the Institute organizes two major conferences. The spring meeting is generally confined to management topics and industry reports; and the fall meeting consists of a technical conference and exhibition.
The Institute also sponsors a Certification Course and Process Control Course in investment casting, for employees of regular member companies.
The Institute publishes technical books, DVD’s and CD’s as training tools; it publishes a monthly magazine which keeps members current on industry trends. It also offers a number of statistical programs for participating North American casting members.
The Institute is governed by a board of directors elected by voting delegates (which are appointed by each of the Institute corporate members.) While the majority of the Institute membership comes from the United States and Canada, membership also includes investment casters and suppliers from throughout the world, representing virtually every continent.
